George Harmon ³⁴

  General Notes:

George Harmon was born in 1600, the son of John and MildredHarmon. He married at 20 in the year 1620 Elizabeth Langridgeon the 2nd April 1620 at East Grinstead. He was a husbandman(farner) at East Grinstead. Robert was their first born son, hewas named after his father's brother. He was to be followed byGeorge, Ann, Drewe, Joan, Margaret and lastly Edward. Robertworked with his father George on the farm and was to follow inhis fathers footsteps as a husband but he was to die six monthsprior to his father George. Georges mother died in 1635, 9years after the death of her husband. Six months prior to thedeath of his mother George and his wife had lost Drewe age 3years and had a still born baby. It would appear that this childwas lost during Christmas as he was buried on New Years Day,January 1st 1635. Tragedy was to strike yet again for Georgeand Elizabeth in 1647 as their youngest son Edward died at thetender age of 4.

George married Elizabeth Langridge, daughter of Edward Langridge and Johane Terrie, on 2 Feb 1621 in East Grinstead, Sussex. (Elizabeth Langridge was born in 1597 in East Grinstead, Sussex, died on 14 Mar 1670 in East Grinstead, Sussex and was buried in 1669/1670 in East Grinstead, Sussex.)
