Mark Thomas Sargent was born on
the 31st December 1969 in Cuckfield Hospital, West Sussex.
Brought up in Haywards Heath he attended St Wilfrids Cof E primary
school before moving on to Warden Park Comprehensive and Haywards
Heath Sixth Form College.
In 1988 he commenced studying
Electrical and Electronic Engineering at what was then Kingston
Polytechnic, and after completing the course (and running out of
money!!) he returned to Sussex. After a number of temping jobs
he took up the offer of a post in the NHS as a
Trainee Neurophysiological Measurement Technician on the 6th
January 1993, based at Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre, Haywards
Heath.
Eleven years on Mark still
remains at the same department, albeit with the revised job title of
Chief Clinical Neurophysiologist.
Aswell as his clinical work,
Mark is an active trade unionist and is branch secretary for
UNISON Mid
Sussex Health.
Outside of his NHS employment Mark enjoys
playing (although not particularly well) golf and online computer
games (if you get killed on "Call of Duty" by CSS_Technohead you now
know who the culprit is!). His main hobby has always been music,
but with a natural inability for singing or playing an instrument he
has instead turned to DJing and runs a successful mobile disco company
called
Energy Entertainment.
